How to switch your bra straps in 10 seconds

· 1 min read

No tools, no tailoring, no tutorial. Here's the actual 10-second move for swapping clip-on straps — and why the clip system never fights you.

Every Bijou base bra has four gold-tone rings sewn into it: two at the top of the cups, two at the back of the band. Every Bijou strap ends in a 12mm lobster clasp. That's the whole mechanism. If you've ever clipped a charm onto a bracelet, you already know how to do this.

The 10-second move

  1. Open the clasp with your thumb and forefinger — the little spring lever slides back.
  2. Hook it through the ring.
  3. Let go and give the strap a gentle tug to feel it seat.

Repeat for the other three points. Start to finish, it's about ten seconds once it's muscle memory, and the first time it might take thirty while you're looking at it.

Two tips that help

Do the back rings first if you're already wearing the bra — they're the fiddly ones, and it's easier before you've adjusted the front. And when you take a pair off, clip the two clasps together so they live as a set in your drawer instead of as four lonely orphans.

Why it always fits

Because every clasp and every ring is the same size across the entire line, there's no "does this one fit" guessing. A strap you buy two collections from now will clip onto the base bra you own today. That standardization is the boring engineering decision that makes the fun part — collecting straps — actually work. (More on the hardware on our how-it-works page.)

One bra. Infinite moods.
